March 13, 2001 Greetings from The Phil Zone! Friday the 13thOn
Friday, April 13th, the sun will rise on the Here Come Sunshine Tour as
Phil Lesh & Friends continue their relentless pursuit of the chaos
lurking behind the veil of order. The
appropriately named Sunrise Musical Theater will be the site of the first
of what we hope to be regular visits to our phans in the Southern region.
This tour is also a return to the roots so to speak for our two guitarists:
Jimmy Herring and Warren Haynes, who are true On
Saturday, April 14th, Phil will be appearing at Community Blood Centers
of South Florida, 10112 W. Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise, Florida, from 11AM-2PM
as part of his continuing efforts to raise awareness for organ and whole
blood donation. Everyone participating in the donation process will receive
an autographed poster. After the incredible response at our last blood
drive at Bonfilšs Blood Center in Denver last month, wešll be trying to
break our record of 191 pints of blood!
We
will be resuming our charity auctions to benefit the Unbroken Chain Foundation.
Items offered will include tickets to our upcoming shows at Roseland
Ballroom and Electric Factory, as well as signed posters; stage used memorabilia,
and the chance of lucky fans to pick the song of their choice to be performed
during our shows on the Here Come Sunshine Tour. Phil

Phil
Lesh & Friends are the cover story in the new issue of Hitting the
Note magazine. The feature, entitled, "The Road Lesh Travels,"
includes an exclusive interview with Phil, along with some of his "Friends:"
Jimmy Herring, Derek Trucks, and Warren Haynes. A
wonderful discussion between Phil and Trey Anastasio of Phish appears
in the April 2001 issue of Guitar World. The two compare notes on the
art of long-term rock and roll survival. There is also a nice side bar
on our two resident guitar heroes Warren Haynes and Jimmy Herring. Many
of you many have noticed that wešve been continuing to retool www.phillesh.net
in recent months. Wešll be updating our little piece of cyberspace real
estate regularly so please check in often. Phil Lesh & Friends are thrilled to be
able to present shows for the first time in the South and have some magical
plans in store. We
look forward to seeing all of you out there in the Phil Zone. J.C. Juanis See previous
